The committee of the whole (COW = city council) has three important items relating to active transportation on their July 20th agenda.
Item 5e = capital improvement budget/projects
Item 6d = creation of a transportation coordinator
Item 6e = discussion on projects for funds from federal American Rescue Plan.

We are asking that you reach out to your Alderperson and ask them to make sure funds for an Active Transportation Plan are included!

The Active Transportation Plan has been one of the top priorities of the 2019 Comprehensive Plan. We've seen a patchwork of improvements for all types of transportation. It is time that the city invests into a plan to create systematic, city-wide, long-term active transportation improvements.

We are asking the city to be pro-active when it comes to safety improvements, not re-active after there have been incidents.

There has been a significant increase in people riding bicycles for fun, fitness, and transportation in the city. Let's create a safe transportation infrastructure for them and all other active transportation participants!
