Have you been enjoying the mountain bike trails in Sheehan Park? The trail stewards have been hard at work keeping them maintained and making modifications where needed to improve conditions, improve the riding experience, and increase durability and longevity. And now they need your help.
There will be a trail work day on May 22nd starting at 8am. Plan to meet at the existing trailhead shown on the map image below.
No specialty skills are required. Just a willingness to do some labor for the benefit of those who ride, run, and hike on these trails.
What to bring:
- water
- work gloves
- long pants
- sturdy shoes/boots
- comfortable apparel for the temps and conditions
- a positive attitude
Consider bringing if you have them: (and put your name on your tools)
- loppers
- pruning shears
- shovels (flat might be more useful than pointed)
- heavy-duty rakes
- battery or gas-powered edgers/trimmers
- tampers
Projects will include cleaning up a sections of the trail, finishing up the new entrance route, and removal of some invasive species.
Updates will be included on the CORP event page.
