In celebration of Madison’s Virtual Bike Week, we are pleased to announce the Saris Bike Week Food Drive Challenge.
With more than 33 million people unemployed across the country, our food pantries are stretched to the limit with many experiencing a 65%+ increase in need for food. Traditional food drives at schools, churches and businesses have stopped causing our food pantries to struggle to source shelf-stable food. It is time to give back and help our neighbors.
Tomorrow, May 14th, food donation stations will be set up at 22 bike shops, bike friendly businesses and parks around the Madison area to collect shelf-stable food. We encourage everyone to dig in your pantry for non-expired, shelf stable food, hop on your bike and give back.
So what's the challenge? Bike to a donation station and drop off your donation of shelf-stable/non-perishable food or household items. Upload a photo of your bike and donation at a donation station to social media, tag @sarisofficial and #wkowfeedinghope for your chance to win a SuperClamp EX-2 Bike hitch rack or a Bones 2-Bike rack.

Want more of challenge? Dust off your best costume while dropping off your donation for your chance to win a sweet limited-edition Saris hat. Winners will be announced at 2 pm CST Friday May 15, 2020, prizes are for local pick-up only.
Please remember to practice social distancing and safe donation practices. For enhanced safety, the barrels will not be manned at all times but will be monitored. Look for pop-up tents with barrels in the parks and outdoor locations. Saris is proud to partner with 22 local bike shops and bike friendly business and the United Way of Dane County to support the WKOW 27 Feeding Hope text-a-thon and Food Drive benefitting the Community Action Coalition For South Central Wisconsin, Inc.https://bit.ly/2Wus2IE
