October 21 event to honor local man, raise money for bicycle donations.
A local bicycle foundation established by a Sun Prairie woman is seeking donations and attendees for an Oct. 21 fundraiser to be held at Glass Nickel Pizza in Sun Prairie.
The event is being held in memory of Paul van Delst, a physicist, bicyclist, and lover of pizza and beer who passed away of cardiac arrhythmia while doing what he loved — bicycling — on April 17, 2016.
Paul’s partner, Jennifer Bull, created the event, scheduled to take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Glass Nickel Pizza in downtown Sun Prairie. The event seeks to raise $1,500 to buy bicycles specifically for individuals with challenges ranging from Down syndrome and autism to memory care or other medical issues.
For more information, please contact Jennifer Bull - (219) 776-0071 or email: jenniferwellsbull@yahoo.com
In addition to those wishing to attend the event, the Paul van Delst Memorial Fundraiser is seeking donations, swag bag items, and volunteers to help with the family-friendly event.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase at Glass Nickel Pizza, which is located at 410 E. Main St. in downtown Sun Prairie, where drop raffle prizes will be drawn at 3:30 p.m. (winners must be present to claim their prizes).
