On-Street Bike Lanes....McCoy development

One of the things we hear most often is the desire to have more on-street bike lanes in Sun Prairie. Veridian Homes, the developer of the Smith's Crossing and the McCoy addition, requested removal of bike lane on requirements on Leopold Way from their General Development Plan (GDP)!

City Staff supported and the Sun Prairie Plan Commission voted to keep the bike lanes in the McCoy addition. Next is the city council to vote on the GDP. Please contact your alder to VOTE in support of on-street bike in the McCoy addition. This will create a new east-to-west commuter route with dedicated on-street bike lanes.

On-street bike lanes provide a dedicated space on public roads for people who ride bicycles. They raise awareness, help maintain speed limits, make the streets safer for all users, and increase economic development.
