Metro Transit, RoundTrip Greater Madison, and the City of Sun Prairie will host a “Learn & Ride” event at the Sun Prairie Park & Ride on Tuesday, March 31, to help residents feel more confident navigating public transit and to celebrate those already using the bus to get to work, school, and more.
Stop in any time between 7:00-10:00 a.m. to learn how the system works, including how to board and ride Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), plan trips, explore fare discounts, and use bike racks to keep bikes secure on both BRT and traditional buses. Free coffee and donuts will be available to fuel your ride, while supplies last!

Anyone new to riding the bus can join Metro staff for a free ‘practice guided trip’ to learn the basics of boarding, paying fares, and riding the bus—guided trips on Route A1 will depart the Park & Ride at 7:58 a.m. and 8:58 a.m. RoundTrip staff will be available to share more resources for bus riders, including the free Emergency Ride Home Program for commuters who don’t drive alone in Dane County, and to share about the upcoming Spring Roll Challenge which encourages people who live and work in Dane County to swap solo drives for biking, riding the bus, walking, rolling, and carpooling. Additionally, City of Sun Prairie Sustainability Program Coordinator Hannah best will be available to share resources about sustainability initiatives in Sun Prairie including upcoming events for Earth Month.
