Looks like Spring is here....do an ABC check before your first ride!

Temps are up. Snow is melting. Roadways are clearing up. You know what that means! Time to get your bicycle serviced and ready for riding outside! Watch for slick spots in the shade and dirt, gravel, and sand in corners and along the edge of the road!

Before you go outside for your first ride, be sure to complete an ABC check!

  • A is for Air - check your air pressure. Read the recommended PSI on your tire. There is usually a range. Start in the middle and adjust to your preference, riding conditions, and surface.
  • B is for Brake - check your brakes. Clean the rims. Make sure your brake pads are not worn and make good contact with your rims. If you have disc brakes, use some Isopropyl alcohol to clean of any dirt, grease, or oil.
  • C is for Chain - check your chain tension, clean and lube. A little rust is okay. Clean off your chain with a degreaser. Wipe it dry. Lube with a bicycle chain oil.
