As some of you know, I'm on the Madison Area Transportation Planning Board Bicycle Transportation Plan Policy Advisory Committee. That's a long description for a simple concept. Plan for the future of bicycling as transportation in Dane County.
From the Committee:
"The Madison Area Transportation Planning Board is updating the regional Bicycle Transportation Plan for the Madison Metropolitan Area and Dane County and would like your input. The regional bike plan is a blueprint for continuing to improve bicycling conditions and increase bicycling levels throughout Dane County. It seeks to provide a framework for cooperation between state agencies, Dane County, and local governments in planning for and developing bicycle facilities and programs. It is intended to educate citizens and policy makers on bicycle transportation issues and the needs of bicyclists as well as present resources for planning, designing, and maintaining bicycle facilities. The plan will update the 2000 Bicycle Transportation Plan for the Madison Area and Dane County and bikeway system plan included in the 2035 Regional Transportation Plan Update."
On June 3rd at 5:00 PM the Committee will hold a public informational meeting in the Community Room at Sun Prairie City Hall, 300 E. Main. Sunny P. SPBAG members and the general public would get some background info, ask questions, give us feedback, etc. You can learn about the planned Goodman Trail between Milwaukee St. in Madison and Sun Prairie, ask about the proposed multi-use path that will reach from Hwy 12 north of Middleton and parallel Hwy. 19 all the way to Waterloo. All this and more.
If you've read all this, please attend if at all possible. To repeat:
