A Unanimous Vote in Our Favor

We attended the June 1st Parks and Recreation Commission meeting where Lee Igle, SP Parks and Recreation Department, presented our updated proposal for singletrack trails in Sun Prairie. After some discussion a motion was made and the group voted unanimously in favor of supporting the exploration and development of singletrack trails in Smith's Crossing Community Park. Though a great step forward, we still have a long way to go.

The next step is the ordering and review of a wetland delineation report for the park. This is required to determine how much of the park can be usable for singletrack trail construction. Then we present to the city for approval. If the report is favorable and we receive approval from the city, that will be the time we can start working with trail designers.

A copy of this proposal and a few FAQs can be found on this page: 2016 Goal, Singletrack Trails
