Local fees and permits
Below are links to permits and passes you should consider when riding in Sun Prairie and on paths or trails outside of town.
City:
- Bicycle owners living in Sun Prairie are required to register their bicycles with the City of Sun Prairie.
Registration is free and does not expire.
Dane County:
- A Dane County Mountain Bike Trail Permit is required for riding at Badger Prairie, Seminole, and CamRock trails.
The permits are annual and end on the 31st of December.
Wisconsin State:
- A State Trail Pass is required for mountain riding at trails such as Blue Mounds and Kettle Moraine and cycling on trails systems like the Badger State Trail, Capital City State Trail and the Glacial Drumlin State Trail. Some locations may require a pass for the user and a separate pass for your vehicle if parking on site.
The permits are annual and end on the 31st of December.
